Why should I try to be nurturing my relationship with God when there are six and half million people on the edge of death-by-famine?
You tell us to see you in the hungry and thirsty people,
the stranger and those who have been stripped bare,
the sick person and the prisoner of other peoples’ oppression.
Why do I need any other image of you than these?
You tell me to feed and welcome,
clothe and break the chains of indifference.
Is there any better way to know you?
What better way of worship is there?
What other way is there to nurture my soul
in this Lent?
